Some canvases have a history and this is one of them. I started with experimenting with thick paint that resulted in a very abstract and heavily textured image. I wasn't at all happy with it, and so it was painted over with the layer you see now. It reminds me of families because what family does not have a history? Life is smooth some times, and rough at other times. With that history comes closeness. Maybe a little too much closeness.
Warm yellows, oranges and reds are counter balanced with cool blues for a rich, colourful image. The stark black and white lines finish off this striking, cubism-style image. How would you describe this image?
